In a bout of procrastination, I took this test. Some of it seems a little off, especially the lazy vs. workaholic one (I guess it's since I am out of a job since Friday)....

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Personality
You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more atheist than religious, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more introverted than extroverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are intellectual (78%), romantic (71%), horny (61%), innovative (57%).

Stereotypes
Punk Rock93%
Old Geezer83%
Prep69%

Life Experience
Sex31%
Substances24%
Travel35%

Politics
Your political views would best be described as Liberal, whom you agree with around 64% of the time.
  Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Upper Class. You make more than 50% of those who have taken this test, and 73% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG-13.
By the way, your hottness rank is 60%, hotter than 47% of other test takers.

So, today is going to be about 77 degrees and sunny. I have a few huge papers due next week and this is the only time I really have to get them done. The powers that be must be punishing me for procrastinating. I can't believe how pretty the weather is today... and I can't bask in its rays because I am going to be chained to a computer.

(Says little prayer to whomever may be "up there": please let me finish the majority of my work today, before the sun goes down, so that I can go outside and play....)

And my little Karen is coming downtown today!!!! She gave me a call and it almost broke my heart because I can't hang out with her. A whole semester, that's how long she has been here. We've seen each other twice. UGH! I thought the last semester of senior year was supposed to be easy! I'm too stressed out and busy to celebrate what may be some of the greatest years of my life!

That's enough for now.

So, as of late I have decided that my days are very much bi-polar.

While I'm at work, I'm usually on edge and reprimanding bratty kids.  For eight hours.  Today it's 8.5.

While I'm in my apartment, I'm usually happy and have been cleaning, making dinner, watching TV, packing for my move on Saturday, etc.  It's lonely here all by myself, but I'm at least content (most of the time).  There aren't children to chase after.

I don't really see this continuing forever, but it's just a little something for my lj to chew on until something more substantial comes up.

Well, I'm now off to shower and get ready for my day with the Atwood terrors.  That's what I'll leave you with, my adoring fan(s).  : )

Hi.

I got a fantastic call this morning around 9:45. I HAVE A JOB!! It freaking took long enough! I will be a mostly full-time Nanny for a family not far from here. I think this will be a good thing. For now, I'm going to continue sitting on my butt and watching TV. At least until tomorrow when Mary and I play some hardcore tennis. Hooray!

AND Rebekah turned in her application for our apartment, so we should be hearing back about that soon as well!  I can't wait to move into that cool place!!

AND I get to meet *someone's* someone special on Friday in Baltimore. Fun fun fun!!

Ok, time to shower and figure out something productive to do today.  : )

I have been applying for jobs and paid internships, to no avail. I finally caved today and called the Human Resources rep from Commerce, to see if I can transfer over to a branch in DC. I think, however, that they don't need help there. It's the only branch open in DC, so that might mean working at a different bank...which would be weird, but might pay more. Meh. Or I could babysit. Which looks more and more promising as time goes on.

I have been searching for apartments left and right. An apartment needs to be found. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

So, I'm really getting tired of this uneasy feeling. My heart races a lot. I get a sick feeling in my stomach. Luckily enough for me, I have a wonderful boyfriend who is good at calming me down. I owe him big time once this works out.

Well, there's the Natalie update.

fool in the rain. [May. 3rd, 2006|02:04 am]

[mood |tired]
[music |none currently]

So, my junior year is nearing completion. This should be an interesting summer. I don't have a job, at least not as of yet. Nor do I have an internship. But I'm working on it. I have two take-home final exams, due Thursday and Tuesday. I only have two "real" exams on Thursday and Tuesday. There’s also this final presentation on Thursday as well. (Thursday is a big final day.)

I have had a really fun night so far. I'll explain. Tonight, Mustafa (a Kurdish guy in my Kurd class) offered to have traditional food, music, dancing, and clothes to show us. So, I was expecting something like two dishes and a CD. I got there and it was AMAZING. He was in a traditional and still used outfit, and there was this other girl (named Natalie!) dressed in a pretty traditional women's outfit. There was also about 10 different things to choose from to eat. Apparently Mustafa's sister is an AWESOME cook. I couldn't eat a lot of it, since there was meat in many of the dishes, but it smelled absolutely delish!!! What I did eat (rice, eggplant and tomato stew-like stuff, Kurdish salad, and plenty of baklava and pastries) was fantastic. Then we watched a music video type thing and listened to Mustafa talk about clothing and other stuff. It was fun and really nice to see him explain in his own perspective.

And then I got the best present ever. Well, at least for today. :) Marilyn gave me a little piece of France tonight. A handful of CARAMBAR CARAMELS. They're these little caramel bars that we used to eat ALL THE TIME in class at the Sorbonne. It was always interesting, since they are really sticky and hard to chew . . . and none of us could speak French when they were in our faces. Which was often. My professor loved caramels and licorice, and we kept a bag of candy in the room's locker and would pass it around almost daily. We kept the supply going because people who were late had to buy candy to make up for it. (Please note: this was also amusing because we were, after all, on the 8th floor without an elevator and you would be late and out of breath . . . and step into the room . . . and the professor, in her smoker's cough-y French would turn and say "bonnnnn bonnnnnns" and continue teaching. It was an almost daily occurrence.)

Damn I miss France. I was looking at some pictures on my computer earlier today and almost cried I missed it that much. I will just have to go back, that's all. :)

Ok, and now I'm on the quad in this beautiful weather. On a bench. Near SIS. Writing my take-home exams until the battery runs out on my computer. P.S. There are a bunch of guys directly behind me (I am not facing the quad) playing football and I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to be hit with the ball soon enough....

With that said - and I think I have said quite enough for one live journal entry - I'll leave you with the joke from my carambar caramel wrapper:

"Dans la série : 3 bonnes raisons...
...d'aller au restaurant :
1)Pour manger plein de pain avec de la moutarde
2)Pour en remanger si l'entrée était trop légère
3)Pour en emporter dans ta poche les tartines du lendemain"

I remember laughing in class while the professor was teaching and she would make me read the joke - which was never really funny but I thought so because I could understand it - out loud to the class. Oh Madame Berthier I hope you're having a ball out there in Paris, making another group of students eat lots of carambar caramels on a regular basis….

Next time, it’s going to be “c’est quoi le pire ?” Hehehe.

So,

Yesterday I completed my Kurds' class term paper. 20 pages. 7 days. And the majority of the research was done that week as well. I'm awesome. And really tired. Only two more term papers to go, both 15 pages and sue on the 24th and 25th. I can do this. I CAN do this. (Encouragement is encouraged, haha.)

And tomorrow, Thursday, my mom is coming to DC. She's actually doing me a huge favor and taking me back up to the PA for Easter. So that saves me some moolah for the train. Yep.

...Back to work.

So. Matt Nathanson (www.mattnathanson.com) was GREAT! He was really funny and played some of his songs that I like too. The set even included some stuff from American Wedding (yep. He has a song on the soundtrack - it's a cover but whatever.). . . . Umm and I got his live CD, a day before it comes out mind you. And a T shirt! It has sushi on it!

AND THEN THE NIGHT GOT INTERESTING.

So, just for future reference don't go to Vienna, Virginia at night without a car. Krupke and I walked THREE MILES to the metro from the concert. It was fun and nice to walk, but it was rainy and late. So yea. But all in all, wonderful evening! There is more to the story, but it really needs to be told in person. hahaha.

I really should get to working on some papers and junks now. I really really should. Here I go.
